O Brooklyn, you land of endless political intrigue, how you giveth and giveth.
Crain's Insider [no link] has this claim from outsider-turned-county supported Assembly candidate Hakeem Jeffries about why indicted Brooklyn operative Jeff Feldman is on his committee to fill vacancies.
"Jeffries says Feldman's inclusion was a condition of the candidates' getting the support of Assemblyman Vito Lopez, chairman of the Democratic county organization."
State senate candidate Eric Adams also has has Feldman on his committee.
The campaign manager for Adams, Ingrid Martin, told me, "Vito already gave us his unconditional support" before Adams's committee was formed. She said "it made sense" to have Feldman on the committee "because he is with county."
