Tracking Brooklyn

It's not on Eliot Spitzer's schedule this week, but he is endorsing Carl Andrews for congress this Thursday at City Hall [updated]. So I figured I'd look into Andrew's rise through the ranks of Brooklyn's political scene and see why Spitzer is weighing into the racially-charged primary.
Andrews worked for Spitzer, but how did he get there?
The answer lies somewhere with former Brooklyn Democratic leader Clarence Norman. Thanks to Nexis and some talkative Brooklyn sources, Andrews has been described as everything from a close confident of Clarence Norman, to the best man at Norman's wedding [unconfirmed, but interesting].
More tellingly, Andrews did work for a Brooklyn surrogate court judge, Michael Feinberg, who was removed from the bench last year in the judicial corruption sweep that brought Norman down.
To prove or disprove the importance of that Norman connection, a look at Feinberg's campaign finance information from his 1996 election would be nice...if only I can get a copy of it.
It's not online because those records go back only to about 1999.
A State Board of Elections office in Albany is doubtful they have a copy of it, but are looking.
The State Board of Elections office in Brooklyn might have it...packed away in moving boxes.
An official there said they moved from 210 Joralemon Street to 345 Adam Street last week and aren't finished unpacking.
Sigh.
