The planning association cited the $19 million Harlem Pier Project, which is expected to be completed in 2008 and will feature bicycle, pedestrian paths, a docking pier, and a recreational and fishing pier.

The area also has an approved project for distinctive street lighting and lampposts.

Other streets recognized by the association include Ocean Drive, Miami, Fl.; St. Charles Avenue, New Orleans, LA; and Bull Street, Savannah, GA.
