PG, 86 minutes

John Cusack leads an all-star voice cast that includes Jay Leno, Molly Shannon, John Cleese, Steve Buscemi, and Jennifer Coolidge in this computer-animated comedy about a hunchbacked lab assistant. Igor has earned his Yes Master Degree and knows he has what it takes to win first place in the annual Evil Science fair. So when his cruel master suddenly dies a week before the Fair, Igor enlists the help of some friends around the lab to help him make his dream come true. With Brain (a brain in a jar who isn't as smart as he looks) and Scamper (a jaded bunny who was brought back from being roadkill) on board, Igor sets out to create the evilest invention of all time, and prove that even hunchbacks can be great mad scientists.

QUILOMBO COUNTRY

Unrated, 73 minutes

Brazil, once the world's largest slave colony, was deadly for millions of Africans. But many escaped and rebelled, creating settlements they called quilombos in Brazil's rural hinterland. Largely unknown to the outside world, these communities struggle today to preserve a rich heritage born of resistance to oppression. The documentary "Quilombo Country," which opens Friday at the Two Boots Pioneer Theater, explores Afro-Brazilian village life among the forests and rivers of northern Brazil, featuring rare footage of festivals and ceremonies that blend Catholic, African, and native Amazonian rituals and customs.
