By Staff Reporter of the Sun | June 17, 2008

The Boscobel House and Gardens in Garrison, N.Y., will open a new exhibition gallery on the ground floor of its 19th-century house museum, Boscobel's executive director, Geoffrey Platt Jr., announced Monday. "The Glorious Scenery Must Ever Excite," a Hudson River School showcase, will be the inaugural presentation, running between July 2 and October 1.

The exhibition, curated by Kenneth Maddow, features 29 paintings by Hudson River School artists, including Samuel Colman, Jasper Cropsey, and David Johnson. The Boscobel House overlooks the Hudson, and was built contemporaneously with many of the works to be shown.
