City Opera To Tour NYC

By Staff Reporter of the Sun | June 2, 2008

The New York City Opera will bring music to all five boroughs in 2008-09, its last season before the arrival of Gérard Mortier as general manager. A series of concerts, discussions, screenings, and master classes will be presented at various theaters throughout the city while the City Opera's usual home, the New York State Theater, undergoes renovations.

In anticipation of the inaugural seasons of both Mr. Mortier and the refurbished theater, City Opera's orchestra and soloists will perform at the St. George Theatre in Staten Island, the Whitman Theatre at the Brooklyn Center for the Performing Arts, the Lehman Center for the Performing Arts in the Bronx, the LaGuardia Performing Arts Center in Queens, and Alice Tully Hall at Lincoln Center in Manhattan.
