The creator of “The Sopranos,” David Chase, has inked a deal with Paramount Pictures to write, produce, and direct his first feature film, Variety reported Thursday.
Paramount did not offer details about the project, but the movie is said to be a drama from an original screenplay.
Mr. Chase won enormous critical and popular acclaim for “The Sopranos,” which he created for HBO in 1999, but has also written for and produced the shows “The Rockford Files,” “I’ll Fly Away,” and “Northern Exposure.” The chairman of Paramount, Brad Grey, was Mr. Chase’s producing partner on “The Sopranos.”
