According to Gallup, Hillary Clinton is now less popular than at any time since 1993.

Says the polling organization: "A majority of Americans have an unfavorable image of New York Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton, the frontrunner for the Democratic presidential nomination. Clinton's current 45% favorable rating with the American public is her third consecutive reading below 50% in the past two months, and is one of the lowest Gallup has measured for her since 1993."

What's odd about this is there isn't any obvious reason for her popularity to have plummeted.

The only factor I could think of, off the top of my head, is growing discontent among the Democratic base with her position on Iraq. That would drive her numbers lower with Democrats and some independents (of course, she doesn't have far to fall with conservatives).

However, by party affiliation, she's fallen pretty evenly across the board over the period Gallup is measuring.
