That is, in the primary, first-quarter fundraising game. ABC News reports that the Clinton campaign has raised roughly $20 million for the primary. That means the Obama campaign's $23.5 million puts it over the top.
Now, the Clinton campaign started with $10 million transfered in from Mrs. Clinton's 2006 Senate reelection campaign. And it raised more overall in the first quarter (when one counts general-election funds). But this is really an amazing showing by Team Obama.
Too much can be made of the cash chase. And Mrs. Clinton still holds the lead in every national poll. But this is a pretty huge setback for the once-inevitable frontrunner.
