Giuliani, Others Release Financial Data

We knew this, but Rudy Giuliani is giving up a lot of money by running for president. Financial-disclosure forms released by the FEC show that the former mayor made $16 million over the last 16 months (breaking down nicely to $1 million a month), mostly in speaking fees. His speaking career, of course, was bolstered by his image as the hero of 9/11. Not only is he not able to earn those speaking fees now, but having been a presidential candidate, were he to fail, would presumably put a dent in his earning power on the speaking circuit.
Former presidents, however, can command quite a bit. So maybe it's not a bad bet, after all.
