...about Reaganites lining up behind Fred Thompson that made Drudge yesterday? Well, whether you do or not, it turns out the whole thing wasn't true.
The assertion was based on the fact that longtime Reagan staffer and communications guru Mike Deaver had endorsed Mr. Thompson for president. Only problem? Not really a "fact," in the facty sense.
According to Red State, the British Telegraph newspaper misinterpreted a video Mr. Deaver did a little while ago giving some analysis of the U.S. election to a European audience. (You can view the video here.)
Now, Mr. Deaver is saying, rather unequivocally: "Fred Thompson is a great guy, but I haven't endorsed anyone in the Republican primary, and don't intend to."
