Just where did Mitt Romney come up with this (said Saturday at Pat Robertson's Regent University):
"In France, for instance, I'm told that marriage is now frequently contracted in seven-year terms where either party may move on when their term is up. How shallow and how different from the Europe of the past."
Actually, not so much. Though, it did happen, I'm told, in a sci-fi book, one that fictionalizes the first 100 years of Mormon history. (What's with Mr. Romney and sci-fi these days?)
And, why on earth did the Washington Post report this matter-of-factly — as opposed to pointing out the odd and glaring error?
Chalk another one up to maladroit Mitt.
