Romney Responds First on Iowa

The Romney campaign is first out of the gate with a shot at Rudy Giuliani for deciding to skip the Iowa straw poll, with this statement from spokeswoman Sarah Pompei:
"We are going to continue the hard work of building our campaign organization in Iowa and work every day in every way to earn the support of Iowa voters. Governor Romney's efforts in Ames will continue and he looks forward to hearing from voters there and across Iowa throughout the summer.
"Other campaigns can choose to pass on the voters at Ames if they see fit, but Governor Romney welcomes the opportunity to build support with Republican voters in Iowa."
UPDATE: Thompson campaign declines comment.
