I should add a quick explanation of why I think Mayor Bloomberg has a greater potential to hurt Republicans than to hurt Democrats in 2008. It's actually pretty simple:
Democrats are hyper-motivated and ready unite behind any candidate who wins the nomination. Republicans, meanwhile, are mad, sad, and spinning like a top. Any Republican dissatisfied by the GOP nominee is, I'd estimate quite unscientifically, two or three times more likely to vote third party than a similarly situated Democrat. If there's no third-party candidate, the GOP can overcome this. If there is one — big trouble.
Also, speaking of Bloomberg for president, it's worth noting that the URL www.mike2008.com now redirects to Bloomy's "presidential" home page.
