I love flight delays. There's something about an airport bar that just makes me content. (Aside from the obvious.)
Anyway, I should be on time for Ames, but I've got some serious time to burn in La Guardia — and an unfortunate stopover in Chicago — before that. And, God bless 'em, they've got Journey's "Don't Stop Believin'" on in here. So, I'm in a contemplative mood.
Perhaps "Don't Stop Believin'" isn't just the perfect "Sopranos" ending song. Perhaps it's also the perfect Ames Straw Poll song.
Hear me out below the fold...
Of course, the song is about a small town girl living in a lonely world and a city boy raised in south Detroit. But it's also about sleazy casual encounters, a longing for excitement, and "smokey rooms." In other words, it's clearly about politics. (Just bear with me.)
Well, actually, I'll just let the rest of the song speak for itself, in pictures...

 Just one more time |

Oh, the movie never ends |

It goes on and on and on and on |

Don't stop believin', folks. See ya in Iowa.
