Andrew Sullivan calls me out here for buying the Human Rights Campaign spin that the recent gay-issues forum on Logo was "historic." In fact, they held a similar forum back in 2003, carried in its entirety on C-SPAN; it had all of the major Democratic candidates, except for John Edwards and Senator Graham of Florida.
Having never heard of the 2003 forum, I bought the HRC spin. I hereby correct.
With Clinton, Edwards, and Obama, though, it was the first-ever Democratic forum to have all of the top-tier candidates in one party.
(I'll also note here that I agree with Sullivan it's remarkable the Republicans won't hold a similar event. It's certainly no way to run a "big tent.")
