Leftwing Bloggers vs. Giuliani

Rudy Giuliani has long been blessed by his enemies — while some people may not like everything about him, the "right" people attack him, making it seem to conservatives that, whatever issue disagreements they might have with him, at least he's on "our side."
Well, now he's got left-wing bloggers trying to manipulate his Google results (as in, what comes up when you Google "Rudy Giuliani). The spearheader of the campaign, prominent liberal blogger Chris Bowers reports:
This morning I am pleased, if surprised, to announce that the anti-Giuliani Googlebomb campaign I suggested at Open Left three weeks ago is starting to produce real results:
This is remarkable. If more people join in, and those already involved keep pushing, this is the sort of action that could be worth several million voter contacts in a general election campaign.
Now, that may be an overly optimistic assessment of how effective such a campaign has the potential to be. But welcome to campaigning in the '00s.
