According to the Iowa Independent blog:
Bob Dole always had a lot of nice things to say about fellow veteran John McCain. He even went so far, in May 1999, to publicly say he'd consider donating to McCain's campaign. This was while his own wife, Elizabeth Dole, was herself seeking the GOP nomination.
But this week, the 1996 Republican nominee appeared to throw in the towel. "My heart has always been with my good friend John McCain," he told Bloomberg TV. "But it's just not happening, the buzz is gone."
If you note the blog's headline, it maybe time to start a McCain Death Watch Watch, which would track the proliferation of McCain Death Watches.
(Note: This would be different than the "McCain Death Watch" Death Watch, which tracks positive news about Senator McCain.)
