South Carolina: January 19

South Carolina's "The State" reports that the Republican primary there will be moved to January 19.

By law, New Hampshire's primary has to be a week before any similar contest — meaning it could take place January 12 at the latest. But that's a Saturday, so the more likely date is probably Tuesday, January 8.

Iowa, by law, must hold its caucuses 8 days before New Hampshire's primary. That would put it on ... New Years. Meaning, really, that it would have to be pushed back before Christmas.

Things will only get crazier before they get saner...
