Marc Ambinder looks at an internal John McCain memo outlining a "comeback" strategy for this fall.
The highlights include a 'No Surrender" tour, based on "owning" the surge, some policy pronouncements, and some talk about faith.
It also includes this nugget:
September is not only an important month politically; it is the final month of the third financial reporting quarter. It is essential that the campaign have a good month fundraising and finish the quarter strong.
The fundraising is, of course, quite unlikely to be strong (having taken place over three months where Mr. McCain's political obituary has been written every other day). But we'll see how it goes...
