I link to this site not to endorse it, but merely to point out its existence: PhoneyFred.org. It is (obviously) an anti-Fred Thompson site, and it looks professionally done, pointing to one of Mr. Thompson's GOP rivals or even the DNC.
Here is the Whois.net link for the site. It was registered August 6, 2007, through a Utah-based company named BlueHost.com. (The Utah connection, I should note, does nothing to connect this to Mitt Romney or his Mormon supporters — anyone can register a domain through any company anywhere.)
Meanwhile, TNR points out that Mr. Thompson might want to pay a little more attention to who's on his blog roll — some of the folks on there have less than complimentary things to say about ol' Fred.
UPDATE: Maybe I spoke too soon — Washington Post thinks it was the Romney folks. The site's down now.
