Mark Warner is running for Senate in Virginia. Rep. Tom Davis and former Gov. Jim Gilmore are potential Republican contenders for the competitive Senate seat. Mr. Warner made his plans known in this video sent to supporters and posted on a new campaign Web site:
The former Virginia governor, once a contender for the Democratic nomination (or a vice presidential slot), will be a formidable candidate. If he were to win, "Red" state Virginia would have two Democratic senators. The Senate could be (let's say, is likely to be) very rough for the Republicans in 2008.
