Six thousand people got up early on Sunday morning to hear Joan Rivers say the F-word in Central Park.

And also to raise money for God's Love We Deliver, a wonderful organization that serves homebound people with illnesses.

Anyhow, prepare for a plethora of people working out this week — not only in all the usual spots, but times 10 on Friday, when everyone who's left in the city attempts to "burn off the bird," through running, gymming, or whatever other caloric expenditures they can find.

I have a better idea — create a calorie deficit. Work out hard Thursday morning, thereby allowing yourself a little extra breathing room come Thursday afternoon!

The Harriers, for instance, will be doing a fun "beat the bird, watch the balloons" run on the Bridal Path of Central Park. Thursday, 10 a.m., at the Engineer's Gate, 90th Street and Fifth Avenue. Look for us in the black "H" shirts. Casual, breathable run, as long as you want. Then go home and pig out.

Speaking of the parade, instead of standing at one spot this year, try this: Bike, run, or blade alongside it from another street. Pick a balloon, then try to keep up with it from one or two blocks away. Look to catch it in between each street, to see if you're timing it right.

Have fun and be safe this week. And speaking of safe, stay tuned for a review of the Road ID, a brilliant little device that you clip on your shoe. You fall down, slip off the side of a mountain, or otherwise become incapacitated, the Road ID tells whoever finds you everything they need to know about you to help you.

Happy Thanksgiving!
