umbrellasweb.jpg When the rain pours, as it right now, forcing the cancellation of the New York Philharmonic's concert in Central Park, there's only one umbrella New York's most elegant ladies carry: the one made by Wathne for the Central Park Conservancy. It's not for sale but rather exclusively distributed at the conservancy's famous May hat luncheon (called "FLO" for Frederick Law Olmsted). At this year's event they came in green and lavender and made quite the display for guests who picked them up on their way out of the Conservatory Gardens gate.
