New Season, New Site

To new and loyal readers of the Sun's social column, welcome to the Out & About column's new Web presence.

We've created this new section of the redesigned New York Sun Web site with several goals in mind:

1. To make it possible to view the photos that appear in the column on the same page as the article;

2. To make it easier for readers to find out about upcoming fund-raising events, not just ones that have already taken place;

3. To add in some features that allow me to update you on events in real time (that's the 'Sun Twitter' box on the Out & About main page). When the occasion calls for it, I'll be sending brief updates from the events I cover (so if you see me at an event and I'm off in a corner typing on my BlackBerry, please forgive me for appearing anti-social),

and

4. To start soliciting your pictures, event suggestions, and event reviews.

I ask for your patience as we smooth everything out, and in the meantime, check out some of the audio I recorded in the Sun Podcasts section.
