MUSIC

MELODIC PRESCRIPTION For a taste of eclectic punk, catch Ted Leo and the Pharmacists at a performance hosted by the River to River Festival. The band has released five full-length albums of songs that combine punk rock, indie rock, and traditional rock, with an occasional dash of folk and dub reggae. Originally from New Jersey, Mr. Leo performed with the bands Citizens's Arrest, Animal Crackers, and Chisel before establishing his namesake band in 1999. The festival — a free series featuring music, dance, and theater — has taken place each summer since 2001, from June to September, in public venues around Lower Manhattan. A maximum of two tickets for each attendee are distributed on a first-come, first-served basis at Battery Park City.

7 p.m., Battery Park City Castle Clinton, 1 Bowling Green at State Street, 212-835-2789, free.
