Well, at least Peter Hellman chose an original topic, and a very good one at that. But he somehow manages to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory with inane questions. "Do you ever talk about inmates about wine?" Is Hellman for real?
I am know Jonathan as I am also one of the "98 Americans" Hellman mentions in this first paragraph, and while Jonathan and I are not chummy, I know him to be a more interesting and funny guy than Hellman's article would lead us to believe. He didn't ask him about what he planned to do in the future with this qualification, nor did he ask him anything about his thoughts on the current state of the wine world and its offerings and what it's like moving between these two very different worlds. And using the Q & A approach, as any good editor will tell you, is just plain lazy.
It was great seeing a story about Jonathan, but once again, Hellman misses the mark.
