Washington Post Drops Demand To View Cheney's Visitor Logs

Before the Post abruptly backed down, its case was shaping up as a high-profile clash between Mr. Cheney's broad notions of executive privilege and the newspaper's insistence that the public has the right to know about lobbying and influence peddling at the highest levels of government.

The issue hasn't been settled as to whether or not Vice President (he has a title you know) has these broad powers. The high court might someday rule on this -but you refused to go there raising other questions as to the Post's pre-election games.

Such silly attempts to try to get readers to believe that the Vice President doesn't also think that the public has the right to know about lobbying and influence peddling at the highest levels of government.
