Concealing the Facts

Submitted by Kenneth Adams, Feb 2, 2007 13:19

It's about time that the people of New York State and City vote out the politicians that have continually denied them their Second Amendment Rights under the Constitution of the United States. As a native New Yorker who now lives in Dallas, I have seen both sides of this issue and believe me I would never live again in any state that denies me the right to protect myself if the worst should ever happen. What is even more annoying is that the very politicians that would deny me the right to carry a concealed weapon in New York have concealed carry permits themselves. They seem to think that their lives are more important than the average citizen and that while they have the means to protect themselves, the rest of us rabble should be content to be victims. They think that only they are responsible enough to carry a concealed handgun, and that the average law abiding citizen is not. The results in the 37 states that have passed concealed carry give the lie to their argument and also shows those politicians for the elitists that they are. These politicians reinterpret the words of the Bill of Rights into meanings that the Founding Fathers NEVER intended. The meaning of the various amendments in the Bill of Rights are written in plain English and are perfectly clear when viewed in the historical context in which they were written and in supporting documents and letters written by the Founding Fathers. Yet politicians, who mostly are lawyer, do what lawyers do best, twist the words of the Consitution to confuse the issue and to subvert that document for their own political agenda. We have watched government become increasingly more intrusive into every aspect of our lives. They are even now trying to pass laws that tell us what we can legally do in our own homes. How long is it going to take for the American people to wake up and say ENOUGH! How much longer are we going to tolerate courts where judges make political decisions instead of legal ones based on the Consitition. How much longer are we going to tolerate politicians who appoint judges that they know will make political decisions in order to advance a political agenda. These are the kind of totalitarian tactics that are used to "legally" subvert a society. Wake up America, the time is getting short to save our Republic and our freedoms.
