As a United Methodist for over 50 years, I would be as ashamed and horrified as Mildred Miller (above) about having SMU ignore Church moral and social principles by locating the Bush "presidential library" on its campus, thereby helping to perpetuate whatever sanitized image of Bush's presidential legacy this library will choose to present. Do presidents impeached and removed from office still have libraries built in their honor? I hope to learn the answer to this question soon. No offense to Baylor U., but I would suggest the Waco location as a way to place Bush in historical perspective. Building this library atop toxic waste seems very appropriate to me. Another good location would be the remote spot in west Texas, where a person's only reason to visit would be to learn about the wonderful things Bush has done for our nation. This building, and its parking lot, could be very, very small, and thus economical.
