What is all this socialist nonsense about one person, one vote? Those with the most money should have the most free speech. If I can afford it and elected officials are effectively for sale to the highest bidder, why shouldn't I be able to be buy me one...or a bunch for that matter. Thank goodness most Americans don't really understand public financing and reflexively pass over the check-off box on their tax return. It saves them $3 and allows those of us with the big bucks to continue controlling who gets nominated, who gets elected, and what policies they enact once we get 'em into office. Those commie goo-goos back in the '70's robbed us of our God-given right to lord it over everyone else for a while, but thanks to our determination and grit we've managed to beat them back and bring their sissy democracy-protecting reform to the brink of collapse. I know not what others may say, but I say oligarchy today, oligarchy tomorrow, and oligarchy forever!
