America's Budget

I've read some poorly written spin before, but usually its transcripts on the Fox News site, not here.

Please Diana, Bush's budget "reform" is full not only of fantasy, but of outright omissions (like say, "the war"). To commend Bush for his belief in smaller government when he has single handedly increased the military budget to the highest peace-time levels ever (yes, I said "Peace Time") is to be dishonest at best.

And Diana, as an economist, you should do the bare minimum of adjusting your Middle Class spending numbers for real inflation before singing the praises of their utopian lifestyle increases.

Of course, you have no idea what "real" inflation is because you repeatedly use the hilariously inadequate CPI metric which conveniently omits oil, housing and other apparent "non-essentials".

So thank you for your meaningless numbers. Rather than writing another editorial maybe you should start working on a gigantic statue of our president: Muscular, tall and riding a horse of course.
