first off, i hope this:

We went to war with Iraq with the objective to rid the country of weapons of mass destruction. We succeeded in our mission. Let us not forget our objective and move on. Iraq is no longer a weapons-of-mass-destruction threat and continuing to fight there is a waste of military resources.

..was just sarcasm. the said part is, there are still a few people out there (likely viewers of FOX umm.. "News") that think Iraq did have WMD, or did have ties to Al Qaeda terrorists. Of course, anyone who didn't have their head buried in the sand for the last 3 years knows this is absolutely false.

I would never approve of the intentional targeting of civilian lives, terrorism is wrong. But my hope is someday people get their heads out of their behinds and into a book and learn a little something. I mean, you do realize the palestinians were displaced by israelis? that saddam was US supported, and likely never would have been leader otherwise? that it was to combat Iran, who's extremist leadership also came to pass do to US interference (displacing a progressive leader with one who was more of a "friend" to the US in oil deals led to the revolution, ayatollah, hostage crisis, etc.)? and last, but not least, that the Iraq war had nothing to do with terrorism?

US economic policies are at the forefront of nearly all our international policy, and have many dire consquences in many regions. perhaps this is our right and responsibility of the government to insure our nations interests. that's one philosophy. but just don't, out of ignorance, call these involvements something they are not.
