Kidd to Lakers May Be Nets' Best Bet
in response to reader comment: This will be a very good deal for the lakers...........what do u think?!?!??!?

While the Lakers will miss Kwame's D, like they are right now, and it hard to see Farmar go (I saw him play a couple of summer league games and he was clearly the best player on the floor - absolutely awesome), this deal make great sense for both clubs. Kobe is in his prime, Lamar is in his prime, Bynum will be an all-star for many years to come and Walton is a great team/hustle/glue guy. Throw Jason Kidd into the mix and you have an instant legit finals contender for '07 and beyond. The Lakers need to hold onto Walton/Turiaf in this deal though, so they don't become too thin to compeat.

And after Garnett opts out after '08 and joins the Lakers for the vet-min, try this line-up on for size:

PG: Kidd
SG: Kobe
SF: Odom
PF: Kevin
C: Bynum

As for the Nets, they should be hoping Carter opts after this year. Dude is a great, great player, but he will not win you a Championship. I don't think he necessarily enjoys the game itself. His superior skills have brought him fortune and fame and it would have been foolish for him not to capitalize those skills and the opportunities basketball have afforded him , but he just does not have the drive and killer instinct that wins championships.

The propsed deal would appear a no-brainer for both teams to me, but I'm a purple bleeding Laker fan so I might be somewhat biased.

Peace, Love and Good Vibes Y'all.
