MTA Shoos Pigeons From Subway Stations

I can shoo my own pigeons. The MTA should work on eliminating the RATS. I've been complaining to the MTA about the rat situation at the 110th Street/Broadway IRT station in Manhattan for years. One morning a few months ago, commuters were treated to an all-out war, replete with high-pitched rat screaming, among the Big Fat Rats which were fighting over the delectables available on the southernmost end of the southbound platform. Although I have repeatedly pointed out to MTA officials that the in-any-case inadequate trash containers at that location have cat-sized rusted out holes in them --holes which invite ratfestation (and by "festation" I mean PARTY TIME!), the MTA has not taken the simple step of replacing the old garbage bins with rat-proof containers sufficient to hold the volume of garbage that accumulates at the station between its insufficiently frequent garbage pick-ups. A third-grader could do a better job of keeping the vermin away than these folks manage to do.
