I am writing from the US. I have question in trying to understand where the truth lies in Israel and Palestine. My first question is why doesn't Hamas try to compromise with Israel and why does't Israel try harder to help the Palestinians? My second question is if the Palestinian groups of Hamas and Islamic Jihad are concerned about their peoples, why won't they try to at least stop the violence. I would think that if they, would stop their attacks, Israel would stop over reacting as they have been doing.

Can somebody help me understand why these people who have been fighting for so long cannot get together, it seems to me that there is a tremendous amount of potential to be had, if only they would come together and say enough hate and killing, let us learn that we only wand the same thing, to live in peace and raise our families.
