I think that most people in the original European Union countries don't like our current President or the GOP. Their news is very biased and slanted to only one point of view. They are consumed by envy of the US and contempt because we did not sign on to the Kyoto Accords.

The newer EU members are more in favor of the US, knowing that the US brought about the end of the USSR. They know France and Germany did not have a strong interest in ending the USSR.

If you want to get an accurate view of the European thinking, read the EU Observer, a publication sponsored by the European Union. In it, you will see how obsessed they are about what the US does. The ‘CIA Rendition' flights brought about 60 visits around Europe by EU committees investigating how the CIA captured terrorists. They don't seem to understand that they have serious problems with their many radical Muslim immigrants.
