Why Republicans Lost
in response to reader comment: GOP Loss

i believe that the reason that the republicans lost is because they lack a central purpose and principle. the republicans decided that the easiest way to win reelection was to expand the government. they have done a masterful job at that. they are great at one thing - playing the blame game. the president has blamed the congress for expanding his bloated budget proposals and the congress has countered by pointing their finger at the white house for not using the veto. what a farce. it is a total sham.

if the republican's wanted to win then they needed to use a different playbook. they needed to focus in reducing the size of government at all levels. this would take courage. that is a character trait that neither the democrats or republicans possess. continuing down the path of constantly increasing government is not only ba betrayal of what the founding fathers fought and died for, but it is leading to an ultimate economic collapse, which i believe will make the great depression appear to be just a bump in the road by comparison.

continuing in the direction that the policians have promoted will most assuredly lead to a dictatorship and one world government. i guess that the meglamaniacs will be dancing in the street as the world heads into the new dark age.

the ostrich theory does not even work for ostrichs. if the united states is to survive as a symbol of peace and freedom throughout the world, then a major change in its direction has to take place.

all those people who were conned into believing that the republicans would rescue them from the evil democrats better start rethinking their reasons for their misguided choices. freedom is obtained in a society when people know its meaning. it is based on voluntary association, not coercion.

the current republican vision, which is promoted by bush, cheney, rove and company is based on trying to fool the people into believing that their neoconservative values are in sync with the bulk of the people. obviously, if that were true then they would not have lost the current elections.

the republicans and democrats are basically the same. one group wants to expand the miliatary and the other wants to expand the social welfare programs. they compromise and expand both. the head of the general accounting office, a federal employee is traveling around the country trying to educate and convince the citizens that the country is headed in a direction that if followed will ultimately lead to an economic collapse.

americans need to wake up before the next depression comes about, not after it takes place. the republicans and democrats economic policy making are part of the problem and not the solution . asking the wolf to guard the henhouse is insane. he will eat the hens. we need to change the disastrous course that thi9s country is headed before it is to late.
