Republicans lost because they alienated their base: the conservatives. The close races showed that if the base had voted, the Republicans would have kept the House and Senate. The GOP better wake up and throw out the dinosaurs, the neocons, the liberals and remember who elected Ronal Reagon, Bush I, the 1994 Repbulican Congress and Senate - people like me. I voted Republican on Tuesday but I live in an ultra-blue state so that was voting for change!
And please, enough of this "working together" nonsense. I don't want to work with liberals; I want to promote conservative policies. For 2008, no RINOs like Guiliani, McCain, and (ugh) Bloomberg. Let's get a Newt Gingrich-type candidate who is principled and unafraid to show it; then full speed ahead.
