It is seemingly odd that the people overwhelmingly selected Mr. Hevisi to return as Comptroller. However, elections is generally a time for airing dirty laundry and often it occurs only during election time. People become wary of such politicking and turn a blind eye tom what they consider are "shananikins" and look at the record. But regardless of how well Mr.Havesi has done as Comptroller or Mr. Menendez has done as Senator, such officials need to be accountable for their actions in such trusted positions. To continue in office with such clouds over their heads only makes their future decisions suspect in the eyes of the people.
