I think that Lieberman understands what is at stake in the mid-east.Failure of the U S effort in Irak means that the remaining democracies,Israel and Lebanon will not be able to hold out against the entire Muslm world.

The resulting alignment of Irak,Iran and their minor follower states, along with Russia and China would create a formidable block directed to the diminuation of U S influence in the world.Europe could be counted on to look for a safe place to hide
