America's Next Civil War

Jefferson Davis was from Mississippi, NOT Alabama and he was no opportunist. He never asked to be the CSA President. To his shock, he was chosen by the delegates of the various Southern States to be the provisional President of the newly formed CSA until a general election could be held.

If you've ever studied the man, you'll see he was an American hero who served as a soldier in the Mexican War (decorated) , as Secretary of Defense under President Zachary Taylor, and as Senator from Mississippi.

I suggest you read his farewell address to the U.S. Senate after the State he represented (Mississippi) seceded from the Union. He find no malice in his words and only love for the Union (that is, the Union as the Founding Fathers intended, NOT the Union Lincoln wanted where the Federal Government lorded it over the States).
