Alone, Again

Mazeppa, while not performed often in the US, is hardly a lesser Tchaikovsky opera. It has some of the most sublime music (the finale), a great costume dance scene (hopak) , stirring music-(overture and intro to act III -reminiscent of the 1812 overture) and a highly melodramatic tragic story. Go see it!
