The Two Liebermans

Hillel Halkin"s contempt for the arab people is remarkable.

Mr. Halkin thinks that Israel can bribe the arabs living in Israel to betray their nationalistic dreams. The arabs living in israel do not want to live in a Jewish state, with a national anthem which speaks of the "soul of a Jew", and a law of return which applies to a jew and not an arab, and an independence day which celebrates the defeat of the arabs. Raising the arab standard of living (which by the way, is higher in Israel than in any arab country) will not buy their alligence. You cannot purchase the the national pride of the arab living in israel, who truly beleives the country belongs to arabs, and hopes to some day be living in a "Greater Palestine".

Perhaps Mr. Halkins' Israeli nationalistic pride has a price, but for most people, nationalistic pride is priceless.

Mr. Leiberman understands that the arabs living in Israel hope to some day vote israel out of exsitance. He therefore developed a comprehensive plan to move the Arabs out of Israel, because they will never celebrate an independence day which celebrates their own defeat.
