You make a great deal of sense. Facts and history tend to do that. Too bad we don't rely

on that much these days. We're too busy 'Drudging/Daily Kos'ing/Viewing/Jon Stewart'ing/

Blogging to rely on facts and history.

History seems to have begun and ended with the Vietnam War for our media, and sadly, most

of our talking suits. It was an average loss. Considering how many election cycles the GOP

has won, many because of Bush, it was coming down the line sooner or later.

Get fat, lazy, lethargic, pasty, and full of yourself, hey, you lose. That was the 2004-2006 GOP

Congress. They lost the old fashioned way, they earned it.

The GOP lost. Yes, the war mattered, yes, we'd all like it to end sooner than later, and yes,

we'd like to see Iraqis take more control, and our men come home. Yes, Bush and his White

House are guilty of many mistakes, not crimes, just mistakes. But, the party that has touted

itself as one of morals and values cannot expect to win a close election cycle when it has

scandal after scandal.

George W. Bush did not cause or create the Foley, Cunningham, Delay, Haggard, George Allen

Macaca, or even the Rush-Fox stem cell insult scandal. Yet, he paid a price for all of that.

I hope Bush is smart enough to work witih Pelosi and Reid, and the genuine moderate-conservative

Democratic blocks, any way he can. The soldiers deserve that, they need him to do what he can. I

hope Bush is also smart enough to make changes, domestic and foreign, where needed. I hope he

can look at the national referendums on ballots in each state that do more to support his policy ideas,

than oppose them.

Take heart GOP, all is not lost. You took a beating. It's ugly down there isn't it. Now, get up and

dust yourself off, stop whinig, and get back to work.
