Thompson's Trial Lawyers

Your article is not surprising nor is the response it has gotten. Class action suits have become a legal way to extort money from business while the costs are passed on to the rest of us. Many of these cases have questionable or no merit. The impact on the economy and business is clear. But why stop there? 10 years and 2 billion dollars later in the breast implant case and now the data shows the courts were wrong. Why aren't the trial lawyers lining up to give back the money? Why isn't the Attorney Generals office doing anything to correct this injustice? The extortion/litigation tax is embedded in every transaction in America. It is compromising creativity and productivity. It is a major reason that we have the most expensive medical system in the world. The trial lawyer lobby says they are protecting the innocent from all evils and damages and that they are the only path to justice. Instead, the innocent are financing a system that does not work and paying a huge price in the process.
