Senator Clinton Aligns With Bush on Immigration
in response to reader comment: The Line is outside of the US

Submitted by Matt Smith, Feb 28, 2007 08:47

"The Legalization program Hillary IS amnesty. The part about waiting in line is sheer nonsense. The Line should be behind those intending immigrants who are patiently waiting OUTside of the United States."

Call it what ever you want, but i dont remember those having to pay 1,000$ in fines for a misdemeanor they commited ammesty fro their crime, jsut as a qhick example.ANd yes ovbiously they have all said in the back of the line which means behind those who have already applied.

"Being able to form your own new line means you are cutting in front of those waiting legally to immigrate, and being able to have the line inside the US means you have complete amnesty."

not if they are behind all, you are being too conservative here and provide no real solution at all, never mid the fact that only the securty of the border wll cost billions and the fees the illegals woudl pay would be to cover the administration fees they woudl have to go though with ins and some of the cost of boder securty which you woudl pay for anyways.

"Those of you who support this kind of legalization program -think about the long term consequences for population density and quality of life in the US. Do you really think our quality of life will be improved with a population of 500 million in 20 years?"

your number is riduclously exhagerated, also nevermind that fact that the country would have a huge workforce that would produce so much most products that would probably in 20 years havea great positiuve impact in US exports VS imports!!!, also the US is one of the biggesst contriews in the world Land wise, there is planty of space and developemnt of housing everywhere which is also another point hat would make the economy better by having more a contact housing boom in the next years to come!

"Anyways, our immigration bureaucracy can't even handle the load is has now without taking on an amnesty for 15 million plus all of their dependents, plus future chain migration from these 15 million."

because its an all cost scenario as it is currently, and Immigration is understaffed, havin to process all this "paperwork" now would only requiere the need to hire more people for the immigration bureaucracy you speak off which means more JOBs!

"Why can't 300 million people do the work of 300 million people? Why do our elected leaders and corporate heads want unending growth at the expense of the American people?"

You should ask all those politicians that give tax cuts to the HUGE and wealthy corportations with the excuse that it will make them increase production and grow and in turn produce jobs, which it doesn't happen cause this expasin gets taken place in Indea with DEll and other companys outsoursing JOBs, when did this became an illegal immigration problem haha. Your comments and vies make no real sense and makes me wonder if you are just afreaid of having a hispanic neighbor because you are afraid he will steal something or where ever other racial stereotype you have on this people
