As a native New Yorker who now lives in the south, I always try to get "away" to New York every year or two. That desire ended witht the appalling behaviour at the Republican National Convention, even though 9/11 did NOT have a similar effect or "scare me away". As pained as I was by 9/11 I didn't expect it to become an excuse for the suppression of political protest in our country. Clearly I was wrong, clearly the terrorist did win in this regard.
