Rudy may be the front runner, and he may be the most promising in terms of national security and national leadership skills, but if he is forthright and proclaims that he will back anti-gun laws and pro-choice judges, I, as a moderate Republican, will not be able to vote for him. I would love to vote for the mayor. I don't care about his personal life, his religion (Romney's either), gay marriage, or any of the social issues - I'm a libertarian when it comes to all of that. But a Republican who passes gun-ban laws and cozies up with "Planned Parenthood" is just too much for me, and probably most other slightly right of center Republicans, to ignore.
