The Newark arena hasn't even opened yet and the city itself has a long-standing reputation as a center for poverty, gangs, violence and crime. Opening an arena there is not going to change those problems, which may make many people stay away - billboards on some Newark block touting Devils season tickets are countered by others saying "Stop the Killings". Wonderful. Continental Arena is 25 years old, but I know I have never felt threatened going there at night. Let's see how Newark works out first before prematurely wiring CAA for an implosion.
